At the heart of everything I do is one simple belief: I believe in the power of healing. For more than three decades, I’ve had the privilege of watching individuals, couples, and families overcome pain, rebuild trust, and discover that lasting change is possible. When relationships heal, families grow stronger, and future generations are changed forever.

Founder, Power to Heal Relationships
My name is Gregory D. Burt, and I am the founder of Power to Heal Relationships, LLC.
After a distinguished 33-year career with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs—retiring as Deputy District Director overseeing operations and opening more than 73 counseling centers nationwide—I now dedicate my work to helping individuals, couples, and families heal emotional wounds, rebuild trust, and create lasting, healthy relationships.
As a decorated U.S. Army combat veteran, I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to the counseling relationship. My years of military service, leadership, and work with thousands of veterans and their families have taught me that every person has a story, every relationship faces challenges, and healing is possible when people are willing to grow.
My own marriage of more than 30 years has reinforced that belief. My wife and I have experienced seasons of miscommunication, disconnection, and even infidelity. Through intentional commitment, hard work, and God’s grace, we discovered that healing and restoration are possible. Rather than allowing those experiences to define our marriage, they strengthened it. That transformation became one of the greatest inspirations for creating Power to Heal Relationships in 2022, because I wanted others to experience the same hope, clarity, and renewal.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and am currently completing a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at Amberton University. Upon graduation, I will qualify for both the Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licenses. I am also an active member of the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC) and continue to pursue advanced education and training to provide the highest quality care to my clients.
Today, I specialize in helping couples rebuild after betrayal, strengthen communication, restore emotional connection, and create relationships built on trust, safety, and mutual understanding. I also work with individuals navigating separation, divorce, grief, trauma, and life transitions—helping them heal from the past while preparing for healthier relationships in the future.
My counseling approach is built around the Power to Heal Journey—a practical framework that guides clients through five intentional stages of growth: Awareness, Insight, Choice, Practice, and Transformation. I believe lasting change happens when people understand the patterns that keep them stuck, choose a healthier path, and consistently practice new ways of thinking, communicating, and relating.
At Power to Heal Relationships, we combine real-life experience, evidence-based counseling, practical tools, and genuine compassion to help clients do more than simply talk about change—we help them live it.
Whether you’re seeking to strengthen your marriage, heal from painful experiences, prepare for marriage, or begin a new chapter in life, it would be an honor to walk alongside you on your journey.
Because when people heal, relationships heal. When relationships heal, families grow stronger. And when families grow stronger, future generations are changed.
